A new project to prevent drug overdoses is being tried out on the Sunshine Coast.
Dr. Mark Lysyshyn with Vancouver Coastal Health says people can go to a community health centre now and have their urine tested for fentanyl.
Lysyshyn adds even though the drugs have been consumed, it might motivate them to adopt certain behaviours such as obtaining a naloxone kit or making sure that they’re not going to use alone.
