After a successful forum on the Sunshine Coast, Green Party MLAs Adam Olsen and Sonia Fursteaneau want to return again in the Fall.
Powell River-Sunshine Coast Green Party Association who organized the event believes the duo were impressed with the turnout and will continue to work on the issues that affect British Columbians.
A couple of initiatives that are being worked on is looking at ways to protect wild salmon and changing the regulations on professional reliance.
“On top of that, a big focus of ours will be on the electoral reform referendum that’s coming up in the Fall,” said Kim Darwin.
“When we get proportional representation, this cooperative model that we presently have, for the most part, in the BC Legislature will be something that becomes the norm. It’ll be far more collaboration and cooperation instead of the fisticuffs that we tend to see in the Legislature.”
The fall referendum that’s set to begin on October 22nd will be via mail-in ballots.
