Public Meeting Rescheduled for SCRD Bylaw Amendments Covering Riparian Zones

The Sunshine Coast Regional District has announced a new date for a public meeting on amendments to bylaws governing riparian zones.

The public meeting will now be held on July 16 at 7 pm.

Prior to the meeting, an information session has now been scheduled for July 4 from 6:30 pm to 8 pm at the SCRD Administration Building on Field Road in Sechelt to explain the proposed amendments.

The regional district says it will be an open house where people can drop in at their convenience, and an information station will be set up for each of the proposed amendment to allow people to have one on one conversations with staff regarding the changes.

The bylaw amendments are designed to strengthen the protection of riparian areas and shorelines in the Electoral Areas and update Sunshine Coast Regional District bylaws to meet legislative requirements and provincial guidelines.
