Multiple BC Ferries sailings delayed due to vehicle crash in Vancouver

BC Ferries is expecting multiple delays on sailings departing from Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay today.

A vehicle crash on Highway 1 Westbound in Vancouver this morning caused several delays on the highway, preventing BC Ferries crew members from reaching the terminal in time for the 6:30 a.m. sailing.

The first sailing from Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay departed 90 minutes behind schedule and is expected to cause delays on at least three more sailings today.

The 9:05 a.m. from Departure Bay was delayed until just after 10:30, while the 11:25 from Horseshoe Bay and the 1:40 p.m. from Departure Bay are also expected to be delayed.

Anyone sailing with reservations today is still asked to arrive during their check-in windows, and those affected by the highway conditions who are unable to make it in time will be accommodated.
