Town of Gibsons welcomes new director of finance

The Town of Gibsons is welcoming a new member to the leadership team as the director of finance.

William Wallace will be officially in the role on July 8, and the municipality says his extensive background makes him the right candidate for the position.

“Wallace brings with him a bachelor of commerce degree, a CPA/CA accounting designation, and a wealth of professional development coursework in leadership and finance,” the town says. “His diverse background and deep understanding of local government finance make him an ideal fit for our community.”

CAO Emanuel Machado says he is a welcome addition but also thanked the outgoing director for her service and dedication.

“As we welcome William, we also wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lorraine, who is retiring,” he says. “Her tremendous dedication and commitment have been invaluable to our organization, and we wish her all the best in her retirement. We’re deeply grateful for her continued support during the transition period.”
