Twenty-five local organizations have been awarded grants from the Regional District of Nanaimo to help with recreational programming, special events, and projects for their community.
$39,650 was divided up into two categories in Oceanside, which the RDN says were targeted for youth aged 11 to 18 years and the entire community.
Nine organizations will get a piece of $14,210 in the Oceanside Recreational Services Youth Grants, while 16 organizations in Oceanside’s Recreation Service Community will receive a portion of $25,440.
Anyone living in the RDN can apply for other grants including Oceanside Community Safety, Electoral Area A Recreation and Culture, Oceanside Recreation Services, Community Grants.
