Two people were sent to the hospital following a fire in Nanaimo.
Nanaimo Fire Rescue say it happened at 3:30 p.m. on Monday at a house in the south-end of the city.
Four engines were dispatched, and crews were able to control the fire quickly.
Deputy Fire Chief Stuart Kenning says two people were taken to hospital suffering minor smoke inhalation.
“They were transported as more of a precautionary measure,” said Kenning.

“Everyone was out of the fire and otherwise, there were no other injuries.”
Kenning says the homeowners were missing two cats, and they are yet to be located.
Investigators are on the scene right now to figure out what caused the fire.
