As an atmospheric river heads towards Eastern Vancouver Island, a rainfall warning has been issued by Environment Canada.
The warning ranges from Qualicum Bay to Fanny Bay starting overnight Friday and lasting until Sunday.
Rain is expected to start Friday evening with it becoming heavy at times overnight, which may cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
It’s expected to taper off sometime Sunday afternoon as the atmospheric river begins to push southeastward and weaken as a result.
Around 80 mm of rainfall is projected in total.
