No serious injuries after crash on rain-slicked Highway 19 near Parksville Friday

Speed and slippery conditions on the Inland Island Highway caused an accident near Parksville Friday evening.

Oceanside RCMP responded to a single vehicle crash near Exit 51 on March 21 just before 5:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a northbound vehicle had been flipped over on its roof after it hydro-planed on the wet pavement, crashing into a barrier.

Luckily, all four occupants of the vehicle were able to exit on their own and were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure, but no serious injuries are being reported.

The highway remained open, with some delays heading northbound.
