The Town of Gibsons says they’re going to continue to adapt the Official Community Plan based on public engagement and the needs of the municipality.
The original plan was adopted in Gibsons in 2005, and updated in 2015m but the town says many of the issues still exist and continue to be on the minds of residents.
“While many of the policies continue to be relevant, updates are important to ensure the Official Community Plan continues to address local priorities and changing community needs,” they say.
According to the town, they’ve started working on the new OCP this year, which will ensure the needs of the region are met through direct engagement in the community.
Last year five pop-up sessions to improve the OCP were held in the area along with engagement sessions from April to June, and October.
The town says two more campaigns are planned to include engagement on the draft OCP and a second community engagement campaign.
Information on various topics will be shared with the public and can be found on the towns website.
